Youth Ministry Update

This summer, St. Augustine’s Youth Ministry will say farewell with love and gratitude to Emily and Dave Berry and the Berry family as Emily transitions to lead the youth ministry at Christ’s Cathedral. We are so grateful for Emily and Dave’s love and leadership of St. A’s youth and they leave a thriving youth ministry! Their last Sunday will be July 27th and we will have a farewell celebration after the service.

Simultaneously, we are so excited to share that Alisa Bieck who has been a part of our music team for many years, will be continuing to serve St. A’s now in the role of Youth Director! Greg will also be joining her to serve. The Bieck family are already beloved in our St. A’s family and we are so grateful Alisa will be bringing her many gifts to our youth ministry as we focus on contemplative justice and explore youth music! Please join us in thanking Emily and Dave and welcoming Alisa and Greg!

Read more about Alisa.

Originally from Georgia, Alisa McCance Bieck earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Georgia State University and moved to Nashville in 2004 to further pursue her musical career. Alisa found a place in the city’s vibrant music scene as a fiddle player and singer who’s toured and performed with a wide variety of artists in venues ranging from the Grand Ole Opry to the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Not long after settling in Nashville, Alisa found a church home at St. Augustine’s and has been attending, and playing music at St A’s, since around 2006.

Alongside her performing career, she has taught music for over 20 years, working with kids of all ages in lessons, concerts and workshops. She also developed 2Monsters Music and Media, a digital marketing business that provides creative services in social media, music distribution, website development, and more.

At St. A’s, her husband, Greg Bieck, plays piano and organ on Sunday mornings. Their two daughters, Genevieve and Marjorie, are usually nearby - either in the pews, climbing a tree outside, or singing with the children’s choir.
